Hongkong and Whampoa Dock Company Limited,

Hongkong, 30th August, 1901,

Sir,

I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt

of your letter No. 2030 of the 18th instant, enclosing copy of a

letter from Commodore Powell.

In reply, I beg to inform His Excellency the Governor that plans of our proposed new dock will be submitted as soon as practicable after the arrival of our new Chief Manager, who is expected here about the end of next month.
